The Inside Story: How We Chose the Name for Our Business

Lake Michigan Shoreline, Door County
Lake Michigan Shoreline, Door County

We launched our business in the fall of 2017, knowing it would focus on janitorial cleaning with additional seasonal services such as snow removal, window washing and lawn mowing. The idea of starting our own business was both exciting and a bit frightening actually! We love being able to do what we do and have met some pretty amazing people along the way. Almost eight years later, we are so happy to continue to be supported and grow our business. In April 2025, we are launching our newest service of Wash & Fold Laundry pickup at your door.

So, how did we get the name, Wisco Valley Cleaners? To be honest, the name of our road helped a bit. But there is more to it, we love Wisconsin! If you put the silhouette of Wisconsin on a t-shirt, coffee mug, or just about anything, you got my business. Better yet, add words like "Ope", "Yea or no", or "Midwest Girl". There is something captivating about our great state that brings a lot of pride to the hearts of many. Wisconsin is the embodiment of "Midwest nice". We know it is so important to our customers that we offer them the "Wisconsin" treatment. We are definitely "Midwest Nice" kind of people. If you catch us on the street, you better be sure it's not going to be an Irish goodbye. "Wait, one more thing..."

We live in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin. We are blessed to have the Majestic Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers nearby. We are a short drive from tranquil inland waters, rivers, and beautiful shorelines of the Great Lakes. Our diverse landscapes, cities and small towns, four seasons, and oh yea the weather (have we talked about the weather) are an integral part of how we live and work in Wisconsin.

Each year we pack up the van and head North. We love going to the many state parks hiking, a campfire on a Door County beach and getting the kayaks out on the Northern Lakes with hopes of catching a picture worthy fish. We love to hunt for morels in the spring and deer in the fall. We love raising our family on our little piece of land in SW Wisconsin.

Wisconsin is our home and putting the name in the business name just seemed natural.

Be sure to come back here soon for more updates and stories from the Laundry Room!
